Ceist:

88 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Tourism and Transport the number of non-commercial aircraft which have landed and taken off from Cork Airport in each year from 1986 to 1989 inclusive; and if he is satisfied that adequate safety controls exist to avoid near miss incidents with commercial aircraft.

A breakdown of noncommercial aircraft movements at Cork Airport for the years 1986-89, inclusive, is given in the table below:

Aircraft operations at Cork Airport are controlled by the air traffic control service of my Department in accordance with international standards established by the International Civil Aviation Organisation. I am, therefore, satisfied that adequate safety controls are in place at Cork Airport.
