87 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if his attention has been drawn to the on-going difficulties at his Department's Veterinary Laboratory, Model Farm Road, Cork due to staff shortages where unacceptable delays in blood sampling have now resulted and where the post-mortem service is totally inadequate.

Following the recent assignment of additional clerical staff to the Regional Veterinary Laboratory, Model Farm Road, Cork it is expected that the current backlog in the post-mortem service will be cleared shortly. In relation to the delays in blood sampling in the brucellosis laboratory every effort is being made to assign additional staff there.
