Vol. 400 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

73 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford; and if he will arrange for payment as soon as possible.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that it is not possible to establish if a rebate is due to the taxpayer until additional information is supplied. The inspector of taxes has written to him requesting this information and on receipt of same his liability will be reviewed.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

74 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if a refund of income tax due to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 since December 1989 will be paid.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the area concerend is the subject of industrial action due to the non-replacement of a member of staff. Efforts are being made to resolve the matter. The Revenue Commissioners are making every effort to keep the level of inconvenience to the taxpayers affected to a minimum. The taxpayer's claim for a refund will be dealt with a soon as possible.
