Vol. 400 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tipperary Driving Test Facilities.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

106 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give a detailed account of driving test facilities in Tipperary town, in view of the fact that during the first four months of this year only one full week of driving tests was carried out from the Tipperary Town Driving Test Centre; when the next tests will take place; the number of persons awaiting to be tested at this centre; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Since the beginning of this year, testing was conducted in Tipperary town during the course of five weeks. In the period January to April 1990, testing was conducted during the course of three weeks. Testing will be conducted again during the week commencing 25 June. The above constitutes a reasonable frequency of testing having regard to the total number of testers currently available and the competing demands of other areas.

There are 506 applicants awaiting tests in Tipperary at present.
