67 Tomás Mac Giolla asked the Minister for Energy if his Department have received from a company (details supplied) a copy of the recently produced feasibility study on the zinc deposits at Galmoy, County Kilkenny; if he has received an application for a mining lease; the terms on which royalties will be assessed in any such lease; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
As I have stated to this House on previous occasions the departmental practice has been that all information furnished by a prospecting licence holder during the currency of the licence is treated as confidential.It is a matter for the company concerned to indicate whether the feasibility study to which the Deputy refers has been completed or presented to me. All I can say at this stage is that no application has been submitted to my Department for a mining lease for this deposit and, as a consequence, the question of settling terms on which royalties will be assessed has not arisen.
