Vol. 401 No. 1

Written Answers. - Waterford School Extension.

John Fahey

Ceist:

120 Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the urgency in having an extension provided to Whitechurch national school, Ballinameela, county Waterford, as the old school which has been in use for a considerable length of time to accommodate the children has been condemned; and the reason for the delay in giving sanction for this project.

I am aware of the situation in relation to Whitechurch national school, Ballinameela, County Waterford, and I have approved a permanent extension to the school. It is my intention that the extension be provided at the earliest possible date.

The examination of the tenders for the project, which was of necessity time consuming, has now been completed. A decision regarding the placing of the contract will be conveyed to the school authorities at an early date.
