Vol. 401 No. 1

Written Answers. - Storm Damage Compensation.

Edward Nealon

Ceist:

48 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the total number of farmers who received compensation for storm damage; the total compensation paid or to be paid; and if he will give a breakdown of the numbers and compensation on a county basis.

A sum of £1 million was provided to my Department to assist farmers who suffered hardship as a result of livestock, fodder and grazing losses caused by flooding in winter and early spring. Approximately 1,500 applications have been received. These are currently being processed and payments will be made as soon as possible.
