Ceist:67 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Justice if he will give favourable consideration to the application of Meath County Council to refurbish the courthouse in Trim, County Meath.

The application from Meath County Council is one of a number of courthouse repair and refurbishment schemes for which proposals have been received from local authorities. The recent Government decision to transfer financial responsibility for courthouses from local authorities to the Exchequer was a decision in principle only and there will have to be a detailed review and assessment of the various proposals, as well as decisions in relation to financial provisions for 1991 before it can be decided which schemes can be approved or the priority which may be given to any particular scheme.
