107 Mr. Nealon asked the Minister for Health the present position regarding the proposed day care clinic, nursing unit and welfare home at Tubbercurry, County Sligo, for which Tubbercurry District Council carried out major fund raising; when it is expected that construction will begin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Revised plans for the first phase of the scheme, which consists of the day care and health centre facilities and which is estimated to cost £300,000, have been approved in principle by my Department. I have already allocated £75,000 from lottery funds towards this project. The question of providing the balance of the funds required will be considered as part of the health capital programme in the light of the many urgent and necessary projects competing for the limited resources available. I am not in a position at present to say when construction will begin.
