113 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if the commitment given in 1982 to build a community college at Seán McDermot Street/Marlborough Street area of Dublin 1 still stands; if she has recently received confirmation from the Dublin Vocational Education Committee agreeing to amalgamate the vocational schools at North Strand, Parnell Square and Denmark Street, Dublin 1, into the proposed new community college; if she has any plans to progress to the building stage; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department are committed to the provision of a community college, under the aegis of City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee, at Sean McDermott Street, Dublin. It is intended that the new school will replace the existing vocational schools at Great Denmark Street, Parnell Square and North Strand and the committee have agreed in principle to the proposed amalgamation. The advancement of the project, as with all such projects, is dependent on the availability of capital resources and on my Department's other commitments and priorities.
