32 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Justice whether he has received the annual report of the Garda Síochána Complaints Board and the three yearly review report specified in section 13 of the Garda Síochána (Complaints) Act, 1986; when these will be laid before the Houses of the Oireachtas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I have received the report of the Garda Síochána Complaints Board of its activities for the period 6 April to 31 December 1989. The report was prepared for a nine month period to enable the board to prepare calendar year reports in future. I have also received from the board a report on the working of the system of investigation and adjudication of complaints which covers the period 6 April 1987 to 31 December 1989. Both reports will be submitted to Government as soon as possible and will then be laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas.
