Séamus Pattison

45 Mr. Pattison asked the Minister for the Environment the reason he has failed to meet the repeated promises of the Government to introduce the Environmental Protection Agency legislation; if he has considered tendering his resignation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Seán Ryan

Ceist:

47 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for the Environment when he will establish the promised Environmental Protection Agency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 24, 45 and 47 together. The Environmental Protection Agency Bill will be introduced by Long and Short Titles before the end of this session and the full text of the Bill will be published during the recess. It is intended to have the legislation enacted in the next session so that the agency will be in operation before the end of the year.
