34 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health if he has contacted the South-Eastern Health Board regarding the provision of a fully staffed paediatric unit for Wexford General Hospital; the progress made to date on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The South-Eastern Health Board recently submitted proposals to my Department regarding the provision of a locally based paediatric service in Wexford General Hospital. Officials of my Department have sought additional information from the board in relation to these proposals and a reply is awaited on the matter.
