Officials of my Department have had a number of meetings with representatives of the Health Research Board to discuss the board's activities and its corporate plan.
At the most recent of these meetings the board's planned work programme for 1991 was discussed. The board is responsible for very important work in the areas of medical, epidemiological and health services research and has been assured of my support for the direction which the board is now taking in the exercise of its responsibilities.
