Vol. 401 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tax Refunds.

Liam Fitzgerald

Ceist:

60 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Finance when a person (details supplied) in County Dublin will receive payments of a tax refund; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's completed return of income form was not received in the tax office until 6 July 1990. The inspector will now review the taxpayer's liability for the year 1989-90 and any tax overdeducted will be refunded to him without delay.

Mervyn Taylor

Ceist:

61 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Finance if a tax rebate will be made to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 24, in view of the urgent financial need of the applicant and having regard to the fact that the documents were submitted over six months ago; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that arrangements have been made for the issue of a tax debate to the applicant. Some additional information which has not been made available is still being sought. This information may affect future rebates.
