Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

133 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment , in view of his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 234 of 24 October 1990, if he will confirm that a water supply was provided to the house in question on 31 May 1990 as a temporary supply; whether the existence of a temporary supply precludes payment of a house improvement grant or part thereof; if he will ensure early payment of this grant in view of the circumstances involved; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The portion of the approved grant not paid related to the provision of a permanent water supply. This had not been installed by 31 May 1990, the final date for completion of works under the scheme. The temporary supply provided at that time does not qualify for a grant.

Bernard Allen
