Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Facilities.

Michael Bell

Ceist:

191 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for Education the reason she has not sanctioned the provision of a permanent remedial room and a morany/audio visual computer room at Tallanstown national school, County Louth; when sanction will now be given; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The whole question of an appropriate permanent extension to Tallanstown national school, County Louth, was discussed with the school authorities at a meeting in my Department in June 1990. It is necessary to consider the matter further in consultation with my Department's inspectorate and having regard to the expected decline in enrolments at the school.

I am aware of the concern of the school authorities and I will ensure that a decision is arrived at with the minimum of delay.
