Ceist:210 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Education if she will reply to representations made to her in May, 1990 (details supplied) regarding the teaching of religious instruction in school.

The position is as outlined to the Deputy in my letter to him of 17 October, 1990.
Should the parents of the child concerned bring details of the case to the attention of the chief executive officer of the committee in question, I am assured that every facility will be afforded to the child in regard to exemption from religious studies.
