Vol. 402 No. 5

Sale of Tickets Bill, 1990: First Stage.

I move:

That leave be granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to prohibit the blackmarket sale of tickets for sporting events or other entertainments.

Can the Taoiseach indicate if, having regard to the evident all party support for this measure, he might consider making Government time available to take it at the earliest possible stage.

Is the Bill opposed?

The Bill is more appropriate, I think, for Private Members' Time and, therefore, it is not opposed.

Question put and agreed to.

Since this is a Private Members' Bill Second Stage must under Standing Orders be taken in Private Members' Time

I move: "That the Bill be taken in Private Members' Time."

Question put and agreed to.
