Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Office Site.

Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

24 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for the Marine if he will outline his plans for the Harbour Office site, Crofton Road, Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin; if he has received any request from the Department of Justice for the use of the site as a Garda station; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A request was received from the Department of Justice regarding the release of part of the Dún Laoghaire harbour yard at Crofton Road, for use as a site for a new Garda station.

The yard is at present being used by my Department in the running of the harbour and it is the view of the interim Dún Laoghaire Harbour Board, with which I concur, that it is likely to be crucial to its future operation and development. On this basis, I intend retaining it in the ownership of the Department of the Marine.
