Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - State Pension for FCA Service.

John Ellis

Ceist:

51 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Defence if a person who served in the Defence Forces as a commissioned officer in the FCA during the 1939-1945 emergency is entitled to be allowed these years of service for State pension purposes.

Service in the FCA or its forerunner during the emergency period, the LDF, being generally part-time in nature, is not reckonable for superannuation purposes under the Defence Forces (pensions) schemes. Neither would it be transferable to any other State organisation for superannuation purposes.
