122 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline his response to the representations received from the Ballycotton and District Concerned Residents regarding the reduction in the Garda manning levels at Ballycotton Garda station, County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I received representations dated 23 October 1990 from the Ballycotton and District Concerned Residents expressing concern that a proposal was being considered to downgrade Ballycotton Garda station. In my reply of 1 November 1990 I assured the residents that there are no plans for such a downgrading and that the Garda authorities intend to maintain the current strength of two gardaí at the station.
