Vol. 402 No. 8

Written Answers - Killarney Football Development.

Roger T. Garland

Ceist:

41 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Finance if, arising from his reply to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 16 and 21 of 1 November, 1990, the public footpath to be developed through the lands linking Killarney town with Fossa will run through the intended golf course; if so, if he will give an assurance that there will be no fairway crossing the public footpath; if he will make available the maps showing the boundaries of the proposed golf course; and the time scale which is now envisaged for completion of the course.

The walking route will run through part of the area of the proposed third golf course. The exact route will be finalised in consultation with the golf club and every care will of course be taken to ensure that the route chosen will be safe for those using it.

I will be happy to supply the Deputy with a map showing the area of the national park it is proposed to lease to the golf club. Details of other lands being acquired for the third course are a matter for the golf club itself. I cannot say when the course will be completed.
