Vol. 402 No. 8

Written Answers - County Longford Estates.

Louis J. Belton

Ceist:

46 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if, in relation to representations regarding the application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford for a share in an estate (details supplied), he will outline whether this estate has now been divided.

As the allocation of land is a matter reserved by law to the Land Commissioners I have no function in the matter.

I understand that this applicant will be considered for additional land when proposals are being finalised for the disposal of the estate mentioned.

Ceist:

47 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position of an application by a person (details supplied) in County Longford for a share of an estate (details supplied).

As the allocation of land is a matter by law reserved to the Land Commissioners I have no function in the matter.

I understand that this applicant was considered for land in connection with the division of the estate mentioned. It was not possible however to provide him with an allotment.

Ceist:

48 Mr. Belton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a reply has not issued in relation to an application of a person (details supplied) in County Longford for a share in an estate (details supplied); whether the estate is now to be divided; and, if so, when the applicant will be informed.

The delay in replying to the Deputy's representations in this case was due to the transfer of the relevant section of the Department to Cavan earlier this year, as a result of which the work was somewhat disrupted.

I understand that proposals for the disposal of the lands in question are being finalised and the application of the person mentioned will be fully considered.
