Vol. 402 No. 8

Written Answers - Kilkenny Pedestrian Overbridge.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

105 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the fact that local authorities are currently examining their estimates for the coming year, he will, as a matter of urgency, contact Kilkenny County Council regarding the provision of a pedestrian overbridge at the Kill Lane junction with the N25 as part of the Glenmore/New Ross scheme in County Kilkenny, with a view to coming to a suitable mutual agreement; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department recently indicated to Kilkenny County Council that a road grant of 50 per cent of the all-in-cost of a pedestrian overbridge at Kill Lane on the N25, up to a maximum grant of £60,000, will be provided in 1991. The balance of the cost is to be met from the local authority's own resources.
