Vol. 402 No. 8

Written Answers - Tullamore (Offaly) General Hospital

Charles Flanagan

Ceist:

116 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the widespread fears that the ear, nose and throat unit of the General Hospital, Tullamore, County Offaly, may have to cease operations due to inadequate funds for equipment; his views on the assessment that a sum of £100,000 is needed to save the unit; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I wish to inform the Deputy that following an application from the Midland Health Board, I approved on 25 October last the purchase of ENT and audiometry equipment for the ENT unit at Tullamore General Hospital.
