Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a), and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Paul McGrath wishes to raise the plight of the Army widows who on their husband's death discover they are unable to draw window's and orphan's allowances because without their knowledge or consent their spouse had opted out of the pension scheme; Deputy Eric Byrne wishes to raise the urgent need for the up-dating of legislation regarding moneylending; Deputy Roger Garland wishes to raise the matter of the report compiled on Dublin Zoo, its publication and its recommendations; Deputy Pat McCartan wishes to raise the need to establish a secure therapeutic unit for young offenders to avoid courts having to sentence juveniles to adult prisons; Deputy Eamonn Gilmore wishes to raise the subject matter of Parliamentary Question No. 186 of 13 November last on the pupil-teacher ratio in primary schools in the Dún Laoghaire constituency; Deputy Dick Spring wishes to raise the serious difficulties being experienced by people in Kerry who are being deprived of out-patient physiotherapy services in Tralee General Hospital, and the steps the Minister for Health is taking to reduce the waiting list which contains 200 persons at present; Deputy Brendan Howlin wishes to raise the urgent need for the Minister for Health to sanction the construction of a new health centre for Shannon, County Clare. I wish to advise the House that I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Paul McGrath, Dick Spring and Roger Garland.
