Ceist:208 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education when school transport arrangements will be finalised for a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

My Department provides transport facilities for children attending special schools where this can be done within reasonable cost limits.
The child in question resides 27 miles from Our Lady of Good Counsel Special School, Lota and is availing of transport on a special service.
A grant towards private transport arrangements to the pick up point has been offered to the parents.
