Vol. 403 No. 1

Written Answers. - Organised Dog Fights.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

56 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice if, arising from his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 54 of 30 May 1990, there is now evidence of the existence of groups organising dog fighting in the State; the measures he intends to take to deal with this problem; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the position as stated on 30 May 1990 remains unchanged — there is no evidence available to the Garda to suggest the existence of groups organising dog-fighting in the State.

Any person who may have information relating to organised dog-fighting is, of course, encouraged to bring it to the attention of the Garda authorities so that the matter can be fully investigated.
