278 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Education whether the public criticism of Bord Lúthchleas na hÉireann and its voluntary administrators as recently expressed by the Minister of State in her Department, is in accordance with Government policy towards voluntary organisations within the State; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Deputy will be aware that the main source of revenue for Bord Lúthchleas na hÉireann is the funds which are allocated on an annual basis by my Department.

There are occasions when it is necessary to state publicly the Department's views on areas of sport policy as they apply to sporting organisations.
