Written Answers. - Monaghan Remedial Teachers.

130 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Education the number of national schools in County Monaghan which have the services of a remedial teacher (1) on a full time basis and (2) on the basis of sharing; the total number of national schools in the county; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

There are 70 national schools in County Monaghan. Four of these schools have the services of a remedial teacher on a full-time basis, while a further 12 schools have the services of a remedial teacher on a shared basis.

Remedial teaching posts are allocated on the basis of priority of need.
