Vol. 404 No. 4

Written Answers. - Position of PMPS.

Gay Mitchell

Ceist:

225 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the up to date position in relation to the PMPS with specific reference to amounts due to an investor (details supplied) in Dublin 12 following a recent court case.

I understand from the Registrar of Friendly Societies that High Court proceedings taken by the PMPS liquidator against the PMPA administrator were settled with the approval of the court on 6 December 1990. I am informed that, under the settlement, depositors are due a further dividend of 25p-30p in the pound, bringing the total dividend to about 65p in the pound. As the Deputy will be aware, responsibility for the liquidation of the PMPS rests with the court-appointed liquidator. I would suggest that the individual to whom the Deputy has referred should contact the liquidator, if he has not yet been informed about the settlement.
