Written Answers. - Longwood (Meath) Garda Station.

Ceist:

276 Mr. Garland asked the Minister for Justice the proposals, if any, he has for the old Garda station at Longwood, County Meath which has been closed for a number of years; whether it will be reopened or if the site will be sold; the estimated cost of carrying out the essential repairs at this stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This Garda station has not been closed. The official residence adjoining the station has not been occupied since 1985. This is currently being surveyed to assess the extent of the refurbishment it would require if a resident garda were to be assigned to the station. Pending completion of the survey, it is not possible to indicate the order of cost that would be involved.
