Vol. 404 No. 4

Written Answers. - Trim Castle (County Meath) Project.

Noel Dempsey

Ceist:

142 Mr. Dempsey asked the Minister for Finance the scale of repair works being undertaken at King John's, Trim, County Meath; the likely date of commencement of the actual work; and the likely duration of the project.

The current programme of work at Trim Castle comprises the conservation and presentation of the keep at the centre of the complex. Works will include surveying the existing structure, consolidation of the stonework and an archaeological excavation.

The survey has commenced and scaffolding of a section of the keep has been completed. The consolidation of the stonework will commence within the next month. The project is expected to take five years to complete.
