Ceist:80 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Justice if he has any proposals to amalgamate the civil legal aid scheme and the criminal free legal aid scheme.

The civil and criminal legal aid schemes are fundamentally different in their administration and operation. I do not see any merit in the amalgamation of the two schemes of legal aid and I have no proposals accordingly.
