178 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for Education if she will provide a new primary school at Killawalla, Westport, County Mayo, in view of the extremely bad situation there which warranted evacuation; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
I am aware of the situation in relation to Killawalla national school, Westport, County Mayo, and as the Deputy knows, I have approved the provision of a new school building.
I have asked that the question of essential repairs to the existing school premises be examined urgently and I can assure the Deputy that this will not impede in any way the provision of the new school.
