Vol. 404 No. 8

Written Answers. - North Eastern Health Board Deficit.

William Cotter

Ceist:

43 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Health the amount of the deficit incurred by the North Eastern Health Board in 1990; and if he will outline the steps he has taken to eliminate this deficit; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The original allocation this year is £63.855 million compared with £61.050 million in 1990.

It is not possible at this stage to set out the final expenditure position for 1990 in respect of any agency. The original allocation for the year will be adjusted, for example, by the cost of approved pay awards for health service staff. These adjustments are being finalised with the agencies and will be notified to them in due course.
