63 Mr. Cotter asked the Minister for Health the number of speech therapists in the North Eastern Health Board area, with responsibility for the provision of a therapeutic service to adults; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
There are six speech therapists employed in the North Eastern Health Board providing services to adults. The board are endeavouring to recruit more speech therapists to its area and to facilitate this, are currently sponsoring three trainee speech therapists. Speech therapy services are also available in the area at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
