35 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the terms of reference of the special sub-committee set up to examine assessment procedures for the new junior certificate; the composition of the sub-committee; and whether assessment will be in place for June 1992.
As the Deputy will be aware I recently announced the appointment of Dr. Tom Murphy as chairman of the NCCA. I have also announced the composition of the council.
I am at present drawing up the composition and terms of reference for the working group to be established to examine assessment procedures for the new junior certificate. I will be making an announcement very shortly in this regard.
