Vol. 405 No. 3

Written Answers. - Boyle (Roscommon) Drainage Scheme.

John Connor

Ceist:

146 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the amount to be expended on the Boyle catchment drainage scheme headquarters at Ballaghadreen, County Roscommon; the way in which the current year level of funding compares with funding levels in 1989 and 1990; if it is envisaged that additional staff will be recruited on a seasonal basis on the scheme in 1991; or if there are plans for lay offs or redundancies on this scheme in 1991.

Expenditure on the Boyle catchment drainage scheme in 1989 and 1990 amounted to £1.78 million and £1.97 million respectively. It is expected that expenditure in the current year will amount to £1.9 million approximately. There are no plans at present for the recruitment of additional staff on a seasonal basis or for lay-offs or redundancies on this scheme in 1991, but these matters are kept under continuous review in relation to the arterial drainage programme.
