271 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department use private couriers to deliver departmental correspondence; the courier firms which are currently engaged; and the total amount paid to private courier firms for each year since 1984.
My Department have used the services of a courier firm since 1987 for delivery of urgent correspondence to outlying areas of Dublin city. The firm currently used is Speedway Couriers Limited. The amount paid for the service is as follows: 1987, £719.58; 1988, £2,578.06; 1989, £2,890.10; 1990, £3,752.76.
