Ceist:53 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline the conditions normally applicable to the approval of a prospecting licence; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Prospecting Licences.
Before granting a prospecting licence my Department must be satisfied as to the financial standing, technical competence and previous work record, if any, of the applicant. This assessment is based on the information furnished by the applicant on the prescribed application form No. 1 as set out in the first schedule to the Minerals Development Regulations, 1979 (S.I. No. 340 of 1979).
I will forward to the Deputy a copy of the current rules governing the grant of prospecting licences together with a specimen prospecting licence document incorporating all of the normal terms and conditions which apply to such licences.
