Ceist:

15 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline the by-laws which cover the siting and lighting of rubbish skips in residential areas; and whether prosecutions resulted from them in Dublin county in 1989 and 1990.

The siting and lighting of rubbish skips is covered by traffic and parking by-laws made by the Garda Commissioner, with my consent, in respect of each county in 1986. Enforcement is a matter for the Garda and I have no information as to the number of prosecutions.
