218 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Justice (1) the number of convictions for housebreaking in the Limerick Garda Division for each of the years between 1987 to 1990 and to date in 1991 and (2) the number of house break-ins reported to the gardaí in the Limerick Division for each of the years mentioned above.
The number of burglaries at dwellings — including houses, flats, etc., — in the Limerick Garda Division which were recorded by the Garda Síochána, for each of the years 1987 to 1990, is set out in the following table. Figures for the period since the beginning of 1991 are not yet available. The figures sought for convictions for burglaries at dwellings are not readily available and could not be obtained without the expenditure of an inordinate amount of Garda time.
