I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to the Ceann Comhairle under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy John Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) — the medical standards required by the Civil Service Commission, particularly in relation to eye sight, and if these same standards apply to semi-State companies; (2) Deputy John Browne (Wexford) — the closure of wards and the loss of jobs in St. Senan's Hospital, Enniscorthy, County Wexford; (3) Deputy Richard Bruton — the evidence that young homeless Dublin boys are becoming involved in prostitution, some of it organised in Belfast and the deficiencies in support services which leaves homeless young people prey to such involvement; (4) Deputy Ivor Callely — the situation whereby some financial institutions are repossessing cars from owners who have bought them in good faith from individuals who have not fully repaid loans to these institutions; and the action the Minister for Industry and Commerce proposes to take to deal with this situation; (5) Deputy Nuala Fennell — in view of the breakdown of talks to resolve accommodation problems at Cheeverstown Hospital if the Minister for Health will immediately intervene and introduce legislation to finally resolve this long standing dispute, as promised in the Dáil; (6) Deputy Tomás Mac Giolla — the need for free school transport for school children of the Cherry Orchard Estate, Ballyfermot, Dublin, to attend schools over two miles away in the city; (7) Deputy Pat McCartan — the withdrawal of news coverge by two independent radio stations and the need for the Minister to request the IRTC to undertake an investigation into Century Radio under section 13 of the Radio and Television Act, 1988, in the light of the sacking of three senior journalists and the decision to suspend the station's main news bulletins; (8) Deputy Pat Rabbitte — the urgent necessity to extend the community policing experiment and the juvenile liaison officer scheme having regard to the misery being caused to local residents by worsening crime in parts of the Dublin South-West constituency; (9) Deputy Eric Byrne — the problems encountered by members of the public in obtaining a garda to sign application forms for Irish passports; (10) Deputy Éamon Gilmore — the repeated concerns expressed by District Justice Wine of the Dún Laoghaire court about the lack of a remedial detention centre for young offenders, in view of the rising incidence of juvenile crime in the Dún Laoghaire area; (11) Deputy Michael Joe Cosgrave — the serious situation which has arisen at St. Benedict's School, Grange Park, Raheny, Dublin 5, due to rising damp, the break-up of playgrounds, the deterioration of timber windows, and the serious incidents of vandalism in this school which is in urgent need of protective railings and security lighting; (12) Deputy Roger Garland — the serious situation that has arisen from the failure of the Minister for the Marine to deal with the problems in the fin fish farming industry as outlined in the recent report by An Bord Fáilte which has serious implications for the tourism industry; (13) Deputy Therese Ahearn — the conditions of Ardfinnan national school, County Tipperary, and the urgent need for the provision of the long awaited extension; (14) Deputy Bernard Allen — if the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications will take steps to prevent the Bank of Ireland from posting access credit card statements from an address in Great Britain, thereby depriving the Irish postal services of much needed revenue; (15) Deputy Nora Owen — the actions the Government have taken to assist the Kurdish refugees at the Iranian and Turkish borders and the further proposals the Minister for Foreign Affairs has to alleviate the horrific plight of these people; and (16) Deputy Austin Deasy — the omission from this year's Bórd Fáilte tourist guide map of the County Waterford holiday resorts of Dunmore East, Passage East and Stradbally.
