Higgins asked the Minister for Health (a) the proportion of prescriptions for tranquilisers made each year without recourse to a doctor, (b) the proportion of these prescriptions which are for people under the age of (1) 18 years, (2) 30 years and (3) over the age of 60 years; and his views on the possible addictive aspects of such drugs.
