200 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for Education the number of inspections carried out on sanitary facilities in primary schools; if she will outline the persons carrying out such inspections; and if she has satisfied herself with the personal standard of sanitation in schools.
It is the responsibility of the board of management of any national school to ensure that the premises are maintained at all times in a hygienic and sanitary condition. Inspections of national schools are carried out regularly by my Department's inspectorate as required and the staff of the various health authorities.
