Written Answers. - Greyhound Exports to Spain.
In 1989, 864 greyhounds were exported to Spain. Figures for 1990 are not yet available but 608 greyhounds were exported in the 11 month period of January-November.
I have been advised by Bord na gCon that the standards of transportation of greyhounds to Spain are satisfactory. I am satisfied that Bord na gCon, to whom any instance of alleged abuse should be reported, is monitoring the situation effectively.
