Ceist:

209 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education if she will outline in respect of the school year from September 1989 to June 1990 the number of special closings of (1) primary, (2) secondary and (3) vocational schools authorised by the chairman of the board of management because of (a) inclement weather conditions, (b) equipment failure such as heating and power, (c) building repairs/renovations and (d) health reasons; and the total number of school days lost.

The information sought is not readily available in my Department. To compile this information would involve an inordinate amount of time and staff resources for my Department and for the management authorities of the individual schools concerned.
