Ceist:158 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the progress which has been made in relation to the provision of a new building and play area for a school (details supplied) in County Kilkenny.

Local authority planning permission in respect of the proposed improvement scheme to the school in County Kilkenny refered to by the Deputy has recently been received. I understand that the school authorities invited tenders for the works on their own initiative and these are awaited. When the full tender recommendations have been received in my Department the question of the placing of the contract will be considered in the context of the available capital and a decision conveyed to the school authorities.
